Certified Corporal Administrative Position Opening

Colfax County Sheriff is looking for an experienced, certified law enforcement officer interested in a supervisory, mostly administrative position. This is a Corporal position that also encompasses the role of jail administrator for the multiple contracted jails Colfax County inmates are housed in. Additionally, the position covers courtroom security and supervises the transport division of the department. Position fills several administrative responsibilities including, but not limited to, case investigations, warrant returns, courtroom security, inmate transportation, commitment returns, property tax distress warrants, jail contracting/monitoring/invoicing, and assists with certain office duties when necessary. Lastly, the position allows time for patrol hours where necessary like traffic enforcement, school resources, and community events. The position is Monday through Thursday, 10 hour shifts with some flexibility, so long as you’re on shift during office hours, which are 0830-1630 hours. Holidays and/or days when the office is closed are considered 8 hours of paid holiday leave for this position.
Benefits Package includes paid vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, insurance package coverage, retirement, and a take home patrol vehicle. The position is provided with uniforms, a laptop for remote working, and all equipment necessary to complete job tasks. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, hold a valid Nebraska driver’s license, and pass a criminal background check. Salary is negotiable depending on experience. Nebraska law enforcement certification required.
