Colfax County Pink Patch Project
Colfax County Sheriff is a participating member of the Pink Patch Project. We wear Pink uniforms in October for Breast Cancer awareness month. The pink patches you see on our uniforms are for sale for $10 per patch. 50% of the proceeds go to the non-profit organization out of Norfolk, ‘For The Girls’ who offers grants and support to woman battling cancer in our service area. Stop by the sheriff’s office or ask a Deputy today for a patch of your own! We also sell Pink Patch T-shirts for $20.
WHAT IS THE PINK PATCH PROJECT?
The Pink Patch Project (PPP) is a collaborative effort between public safety agencies across the nation. These agencies have partnered together to combat breast cancer by raising public awareness, and funds for breast cancer education, research, and treatment. What started as a small campaign to help raise awareness, has grown into a national movement of over 630 agencies and is growing daily. The project centers on vibrant pink versions of the Department’s uniform patch, which have been specially designed by each agency for this cause.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Participating agencies who wear pink patches or sell them to raise funds, help to stimulate conversations with their community. They encourage discussion with the public about the importance of early detection and treatment in the fight against this disease
